The Giza Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology is one of the leading institutions in the field of higher engineering. The institute was established in 2007 in accordance with the law of the Arab Republic of Egypt No. (52) for the year 1970 according to Ministerial Decision No. 2521 dated 13/9/2007. Which was awarded to the Society of the Future of Egypt for Science, Technology and Development starting the academic year (2007/2008) in the fields of industrial engineering, chemistry and materials.
In the interest of the Board of Directors of the Association and the Board of Directors of the Institute to provide the best specialties in the field of engineering education services, we have worked hard to achieve this. As a result, Ministerial Decision No. (3856) was issued on 3/2/2008, Architecture, Industrial, Communications and Electronics. In 2009, the Institute obtained the Ministerial Resolution No. (3899) dated (28/12/2009) on the final revision of the Institute's specialties to be (Civil Engineering - Architecture - Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering).
In 2012, the ministerial decree No. (1903) dated 27/6/2012 was issued to amend the name of the Institute from the Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology in Giza to the Giza Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Since the beginning of the academic year (2011/2012), the management of the Institute has moved to focus on the specializations aimed at upgrading the level of the graduates of the Institute in the fields of engineering work. The level of equivalence of the bachelor degree granted by the Institute from the Supreme Council of Universities, Bachelor's Degree awarded by the Egyptian universities under the Law of Organizing Institutes No. (49) for the year 1972, by virtue of the decision of the President of the Supreme Council of Universities No. (199) dated 29/7/2012 approving this.
The Institute's management followed up its efforts to support the educational process in order to produce a generation of engineers who meet the needs of the local and regional labor market by providing an appropriate academic and educational environment for the students of the Institute through providing qualified faculty members, As well as the development of teaching halls and the use of modern means and also provide electronic and electronic systems to follow up the affairs of students. As a result, the Institute obtained the evaluation of the Industrial and Engineering Institutes Sector in the private education sector in 2013 as one of the top five institutes It is located at the level of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
In the year 2016, the bachelor's degree awarded by the Institute in its specialties (Civil Engineering, Architecture, Communications Engineering and Electronics) was renewed to the bachelor's degree granted by the Egyptian universities under the Law of Organizing Institutes No. (49) of 1972, President of the Supreme Council of Universities (90 and 91) on 28/6/2016 approval of this. Until the academic year 2020/2021.
At the beginning of the year (2015/2016), the Board of Directors of the Institute commissioned the former Dean of the Institute to form a working group to develop the plan for the development of the Institute over the five years starting from 2015/2016. In his capacity as the current Dean of the Institute for the academic year 2016/2017, to review and develop the development plan of the Institute as well as the restructuring of the work team of the plan to include the work done and to include all areas of development in various aspects of academic, administrative and technological to meet the requirements of the development process of education and Learning, as well as meeting the needs of the labor market State and beyond.
