The College of Command and Staff is an Egyptian Faculty of Staff with the most qualified officers to qualify for leadership. Graduates receive a Master of Military Sciences. The College is affiliated with the General Secretariat of the Egyptian Ministry of Defense.
Development and development
The College was established in 1825 during the reign of the governor Muhammad Ali Pasha under the name of the School of Staff War and received the first session on 15 October of the same year for a period of three years
The officers continued to graduate from the war until 1855 when all military educational establishments were closed during the reign of Khedive Abbas
After the independence of Egypt in 1936, the College was reopened on March 24, 1938 under the name of the Royal War College. The course began on 10 October 1938 under the English system and with the help of English teachers until the end of 1948
In 1969 he taught a group of Russian experts for 3 years, after which the Egyptians assumed responsibility for teaching so far
In 1975 the name of the college was changed to the current name of the College of Command and Staff
Objectives
Law No. 94 of 1975 and Ministerial Resolution No. 125/8 clarified that the purpose of the College's establishment is to prepare officers from the ground forces and the main branches for the command and staff positions of the tactical level in the armed forces as well as the future General Staff posts for different levels of command in the armed forces. Educational tasks
Teaching science and martial arts related to the tactical level of ground troops. It also teaches a sufficient amount of military sciences and arts related to operational levels (tactical) and other supplementary materials, ensuring that the student, upon graduation, will work efficiently and confidently as a commander at the tactical level and as a general war officer at all levels of the armed forces.
To develop the spirit of initiative and innovation among the learners and develop their abilities, with proper thinking and good expression of their opinions, by focusing on the practical aspect and adopting the method of discussion and scientific research as a basic method of study so that the student can deal with tactical issues. And general issues and work to resolve and make the right decision under difficult and complex conditions.
To define the characteristics and use of the capabilities of the various armed forces, weapons and equipment of the main branches and auxiliary and administrative weapons to enable them to optimize their use according to their function.
College visits and trips are internal and external part of the curriculum to achieve the integration of rehabilitation

Method of enrollment
The Armed Forces Training Commission is the body entrusted with organizing the college's enrollment after coordination with the Directorate of Officers Affairs in respect of the numbers of officers required to be qualified in the college in accordance with the demands of the branches and departments and departments according to the policy of training officers in the armed forces

The first stage
The training body will hold a test for all officers who are certified to attend some general subjects such as general tactics, history, English language, organization, use and training.
Successful officers in the first stage have training courses in the educational institutes for two months and choose twice the number required for each weapon
The second phase
At the end of the qualification course, a liquidation examination is held in the form of a tactical project for the battalion level and some other materials
• The candidates in the liquidation examination shall be presented to a competent committee to verify their eligibility to join the college. • The General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense shall approve the names of those attending the course

The relevance of curriculum materials to the faculty's mission and educational philosophy in working towards the graduation of an officer capable of working efficiently at tactical levels and as a general staff officer at all levels of the armed forces.
Intensifying the scientific curriculum by implementing the external training of the students in the formations and implementing part of the group exercises and projects such as the projects of external command centers as well as the military games as well as attending the main training activities in the formations and main branches and specialties in the armed forces and participating in seminars and panel discussions
Unifying the concept and rooting of the doctrine through adherence to the laws of combat and military research publications while studying within the college
The curriculum is divided into four main stages
Basic stage
Which includes all general subjects such as organization and use, general tactics, training, duties of staff, main branches, reconnaissance, foreign armies, artillery, engineers, chemical warfare, signal, administration, electronic warfare and technical insurance. The student performs a test at the end of that stage. Then a percentage of the officers of the main branches studied in specialized institutes of their branches
Advanced stage
This course includes the theoretical and practical study of the brigade level in the offensive and defensive battles, the march, the confrontational battle and all the special conditions such as fighting in the cities and fighting in the mountainous terrain, the siege, the lifting of the siege, the night operations.
High-end stage
And includes theoretical and practical study of the level of division in the offensive and defensive battles and the march and the clash and act as the second pattern of the army

Teaching Methods
It implements different methods using multi-featured tools, summarized as follows:
Lecture: Specializes in teaching general or new subjects
Discussion: The main method of teaching theoretical subjects and is done in classes and study groups
Applied Courses: The main method of teaching scientific and applied subjects, which determines the degree of students' understanding of the theoretical foundations of subjects
Tactical Attitudes: Present a specific tactical position on a map and ask the student to make the appropriate decision in this position
The projects of the internal and external leadership centers: They are carried out inside and outside the college in the form of a joint practical training using multiple means of communication, in which the branches of leadership are at the tactical level and aim to train students to work in the command centers
War games: The highest level of teaching methods for applied subjects and implemented by two opposing groups representing each group of leaders and branches of command center specialties at the tactical level
Military research: Individual and collective research is carried out by all students, and the provision of military research from each student and defense is a prerequisite for the degree of graduate of the Faculty of Military Sciences
Students' Lectures: The students will give lectures to the students of the course in the presence of the faculty members to determine the ability of the students and their training to present the subjects in the form of lectures and to judge their abilities to work as teachers in the college and other educational institutions
Seminars and transfer of experience: It is held to study the experience of leaders and officers inside or outside the college, and discuss important topics such as development in use or subjects that need to unify the concept of
Internal Visits:
The military zones are to study the nature of the land and deepen the concepts about the nature of the use of forces in these areas

Pre-preparation of lessons: The student evaluates throughout the course on the basis of his pre-preparation, his positive and his degree of participation in the discussions
Military research: Research is conducted, on a specific basis, by a specialized committee, after discussion of the student
Military Projects and Matches: Assessed on the level of performance, while performing the assigned function
Personal assessment: Based on the students' mental fitness, personal behavior, leadership qualities and activity, the course is fully functional
Incoming officers
The college welcomes the presence of expatriates from Arab and foreign countries where they are taught the same curriculum with their Egyptian colleagues
Two weeks of training courses are held prior to the main session, with a view to standardizing the concept for military symbols and signing maps and bases of use
The foreign officer shall be treated as an Egyptian student and shall be subject to all military laws, regulations and laws
There is an office for expatriate students to help solve the problems of study or residence
Each applicant (individually or with the help of his colleagues) shall prepare a scientific report on his country, preferably on the occasion of his national holiday
